Industrial Fiber

A global supplier to the tire and industrial products industries

Ascend can be found in tires using nylon 6,6, from expensive high-performance passenger car tires, to agricultural and earth-moving tires, to high-tenacity yarn aircraft tires. Conveyor belts, rubber hoses, protective hose, cable sleeves, and heavy duty lifting straps are some of the typical industrial products made using Ascend nylon 6,6 polymer.

Though the majority of HDI yarns are 10~10.5 grams/denier, Ascend customers operating state-of-the-art processes are making yarns with a tenacity of over 11 gpd. With this in mind, Ascend can be suitable for rubber-coated applications requiring yarns made with nylon 6,6.

Ascend is supplied as medium RV 'wet' chips and can be solid state polymerized by the customer to a level meeting all of the typical tire and HDI spinning and product requirements. The Ascend NIF product portfolio has fibers for airbag fabric in the denier range of 420 to 840, including 3 and 6 dpf products, with tenacities from 9.0 to 9.5 gpd. The product portfolio for tire cord fibers has deniers in the range from 840 to 2520, with tenacities up to 10.5 gpd.
